Man caught riding motorized bicycle lands behind bars on $10,000 bond

Ronny Buchanan Jr.

A man caught riding a motorized bicycle landed behind bars on $10,000 bond.

Ronny Lee Buchanan Jr., 45, of Fruitland Park, was spotted at 11:44 p.m. Wednesday traveling southbound on Grays Airport Road near Leggett Lane, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Buchanan was on a bicycle that was towing a small trailer. The deputy found that the bicycle was propelled by a gas-powered motor and Buchanan was not pedaling.

A check revealed Buchanan’s driver’s license has multiple suspensions, including one for drunk driving. The deputy noted in the arrest report that he’d had “multiple previous conversations” with Buchanan about his driver’s license being suspended.

He was taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail.
