Medical Examiner investigating suicide of Villager on Historic Side

The Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating the suicide of a resident on the Historic Side of The Villages.

The 75-year-old man was found by his wife on the morning of Jan. 4 in the backyard of their home on Kaufman Circle, near the Orange Blossom Hills Championship Golf Course, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

The Medical Examiner’s Office was summoned to the scene and it was determined the man had used a .38-caliber Smith & Wesson gun to shoot himself. The man’s wife said her husband had been suffering from lymphoma cancer and blood clots.
