Linda Sue Harris

Linda Sue Harris

Linda Sue (Sue) Hopkins Harris, age 76, originally from Columbus Ohio, recently living in Ft Myer, FL, formerly of The Villages, FL, has passed away on January 11, 2019, in Hospice House after a long battle with Vascular Dementia. She was born to Dale and Helen (Harmon) Hopkins on February 24th, 1942. She grew up in Lake Hope, a State Park in Ohio, where her father was the park manager. She loved her life there, and spoke of it with fondness her entire life.

She is preceded in death by her husband Terry, and survived by one brother, Robert Hopkins (Bob and Vera) of Harlingen, Tx. who meant the world to her, her uncle, Uncle Bill – William Hopkins (Georgia) of the Villages, FL, who was also like her brother, her children Coby Harris Beach, (Patrick) of Cape Coral, FL and Michael Bryan Harris of Tryon, NC. Her grandchildren (in order of their birth) Sasha Harris (Bedford PA), Lindsay Beach (Seattle, WA) Ian Harris, (Bedford, PA, Jordan Beach, (Seattle, WA), Jason Harris (Bedford PA), and Chelsea Beach (Austin, TX). She was blessed with three great grandchildren, Jonathan Reed Wood, McKenzie Wood and Holden Harris, all from Bedford, PA.

Sue and her husband Terry made a life for themselves in Buckeye Lake, Ohio; Galion, Ohio; Ft. Myers, Florida; and the Villages, Florida. They were blessed with many friends in every place they lived. They both enjoyed attending the Community United Methodists Church, in Fruitland Park, Fl.

Sue was married to Michael Tyrell (Terry) Harris, the love of her life.
They were married and happy for 57 years. Sue was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, wife and mom to her children. Sue was a person that gave everything she had to her family. She was always the support behind her husband and children, and took very little credit for all she shared. She truly was the “Wind Beneath our Wings”. She was very artistic through her life, a very talented retoucher, airbrush artist, decorator, and managed the family photography studio for over 25 years.

She passed the morning of what would have been their 62nd anniversary.

Sue and her husband Terry have wishes to have their ashes spread at Buckeye Lake, Ohio, where they began their marriage. There will be a small service in the future there.

A huge thank you to the many caregivers at Cairn Park and Hospice House in Cape Coral for your tender loving care.

In lieu of flowers, please give donations to the Dementia Society of America,
The Alzheimer’s Association, or Hospice House.
