Thousands of dollars worth of equipment stolen during Spanish Springs event

Thousands of dollars worth of equipment was stolen from a vehicle during the Cajun Cruise and Blues event last weekend at Spanish Springs Town Square.

A 55-year-old Deleon Springs man parked his white 2006 Ford E-150 van from 5 to 10 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center, during the inaugural event which paired a Villages Charter School fundraiser with the monthly Cruise In, a longtime favorite at Spanish Springs.

Someone entered the van and stole two iPads, a Galaxy tablet, custom headphones, six microphones, a Whirlward Qbox and $300 worth of audio adapters and cables, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

The van’s owner indicated he had tried to conceal the items under a blanket.
