A man living with his mother in The Villages was arrested with a crack cocaine pipe.
Stephen Alan Cefaratti, 54, who lives at 3205 Riverton Road in the Village of Polo Ridge, had been driving a gray Dodge truck at 10:49 p.m. Saturday when he was pulled over on U.S. 301 for having an inoperable brake light, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A K-9 alerted on his truck, indicating the likely presence of drugs.
“There might be a crack pipe in a cigarette pack in the vehicle,” Cefaratti told deputies.
The cigarette pack was found and it contained a glass smoking pipe that tested positive for cocaine.
He was arrested on a charge of possession of drug equipment. He was also issued two written warnings. One was for having an inoperable brake light. The other was for having no proof of insurance.
He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,000 bond.
Cefaratti had been arrested in 2014 after he was caught driving on a suspended license.
