Speeding driver ticketed after mishap in roundabout in The Villages

A speeding driver was ticketed after a mishap Wednesday morning in a roundabout in The Villages.

The driver of this car was ticketed by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies.

The woman had been at the wheel of a four-door silver sedan at 9:51 a.m. traveling at an unsafe speed when she entered the roundabout at Morse Boulevard and Odell Circle, not far from the Colony Cottage Recreation Center, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Her vehicle spun around, struck a pole and landed in a flower bed in the center of the roundabout.

There were no injuries, but the woman was ticketed on a charge of driving too fast for conditions.
