Woman jailed without bond after disturbance at home in The Villages

Tisha Leigh Quilling

A woman was jailed without bond after a disturbance Tuesday night at a home in The Villages.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were summoned shortly after a 911 call was received from a man who had been involved in an altercation with 49-year-old Tisha Leigh Quilling.

The man said he had been sitting in a chair on the back patio of the residence when Quilling screamed at him within inches of his face, according to an arrest report. She then punched him in the left eye, leaving him with purple swelling under his eyelid. When he attempted to call 911 from a landline, the Celina, Ohio native grabbed at his arm. However, he signed a waiver of prosecution after deputies arrived. The location of the home was redacted from the arrest report.

Quilling admitted she had crack pipes and retrieved them from her bedroom and gave them to a deputy. The pipes tested positive for cocaine.

She was taken into custody on charges of battery and possession of drug equipment. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center, where she was initially held without bond.
