Villager dies at scene of accident after vehicle strikes tree

A Villager died at the scene of an accident after his vehicle struck a tree Friday night in Pinellas County.

Donald Eugene Keller, 79, had been at the wheel of a 2010 Nissan Altima at 8:50 p.m. on County Road 611 when the vehicle traveled into the median, struck a light pole and then a tree, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Keller was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The report noted he had not been wearing a seatbelt.
