American Legion Post 347 to be honored at annual Golden Eagle Dinner

The 22nd annual Villages Area Golden Eagle Dinner is set for March 11 at American Legion Post 347 Hall. Reception is at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. Business casual or evening casual is the dress.

This year’s theme is “Choose Your Adventure.” A program by local scouts will highlight the awarding of this year’s Golden Eagle Award. Scouting’s Honoree for this year is American Legion Post 347.

This year is the 100th anniversary of the American Legion, an organization that has supported Boy Scouts of America for the past 100 years. American Legion Post 347 is being honored for their continued support of so many organizations in our community, including our local Scouting and other youth organizations efforts.

There is no ticket to purchase for dinner. An ask will be made at the dinner for those attending for their consideration to make a gift to scouting. This year we are respectively asking their consideration of an investment in scouting of $150 or more.

These funds will support our camps, program materials, administrative support, both professional scouter training and adult volunteer scouter training, camping scholarships, uniforms and materials for those scouts who have financial challenges, insurance and all it takes to run and maintain a successful scouting program locally.

The Central Florida Council and The Greater Tampa Bay Area Council work together with local volunteers to produce this annual dinner.

If you care for more information or to RSVP to attend, contact District Executive John Larsen at John.Larsen@cflscouting.org or (407) 703-0262.
