A convicted Lady Lake felon was arrested after pawning a rifle he shouldn’t have owned.

Kenneth Mosley Jr., 39, of 40137 Palm St., was arrested Saturday on a Lake County warrant charging him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was booked without bond at the Lake County Jail.

The case dates back to 2016 when Mosley pawned a .22-caliber Marlin bolt-action single-barrel rifle at Value Pawn and Jewelry in Leesburg. Mosley has a long criminal history with arrests for battery, resisting arrest, theft and driving without a license. He also has multiple bookings for violating his probation.

A thumb print taken at the time Mosley pawned the gun matched a thumb print in the law enforcement database. A Lake County sheriff’s deputy investigating the case verified with the state attorney’s office that Mosley had not had his rights restored.
