Fines for property neglect

To the Editor:

Several articles in the Villages-News.com discuss complaints filed about property owners yards not maintained, not up to villagers standards. One property listed the article states owners are deceased, what sense does it make to fine them? Another property that has complaints against them due to lack of upkeep of the yard, the family members can not afford to upkeep, but they are going to be fined, where is the logic in that? Why not just turn the property over to The Villages. The owners or family members cannot afford for the maintenance of the yards.
