James Cummins

James “Jim” Cummins, age 85, of The Villages, FL passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019. He was born in Buffalo, NY on May 6, 1933.

James served in the US Navy. James attended Canisius College and the University of Buffalo. During his life he worked as a Communications Specialist for Dunlop Tire, Birge Wallpaper and Washington Mills Corp. He enjoyed boating and golfing. James moved to The Villages in 2000 from Buffalo, NY. He was a member of St Timothy Catholic Church. James had a great sense of humor and loved his family.

He is survived by his wife Theresa Cummins; mother in law Julia (Lacer) Horohoe; daughters Constance Paxson, Kathleen Paszkiewicz and Karen Henley; sons James M. Cummins and Kevin Cummins; sisters Mary Downing and Lois Ann McCormick; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd, The Villages, FL on Monday, March 18, 2019 from 3-5pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St Timothy Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Place, The Villages, FL on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 8:30am. Burial with military honors will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.  

Memorial contributions may be made to Honor Flight or Wounded Warriors in memory of James “Jim” Cummins.

The family will receive friends at their residence after the burial at 2pm.
