The Knights of Columbus Council #10034 recently held its 30th Anniversary Dinner/Dance at the St. Timothy Hall.
Over the past year, the Council gave over $40,000 in donations to various local charities. Donation efforts range from collecting coats for children, clothing and food donations, and dispersing those donations to people in need or purchasing wheelchairs for veterans in need.
Many fundraisers were held during the year to raise the money, the largest of which was the annual golf tournament held at Orange Blossom Hills Golf Course, which also celebrated its 30th anniversary.
At the recent dinner, Sir Knight Ed Sullivan was presented an award for his work over the past year. District Deputy John Hailey gave the award, which stated that a Formation Degree of the Knights of Columbus was conducted in his honor. Sullivan also serves as the Council’s Advocate.
Council meetings are at St. Timothy’s Parish Hall on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. For more information about the Knights of Columbus, contact Bob Zick (352) 751-0085.
