A violent battle over social media and email passwords landed a Summerfield woman behind bars.
When Marion County sheriff’s deputies arrived at the woman’s home Sunday on SE 95th Court, a man with scratch marks on the front of his body said that 29-year-old Kimberly Malynda James had gotten upset about him changing his Facebook and email passwords so she couldn’t access the accounts. He said James tried to take his cell phone and when he pulled away, she started pulling on him and scratching him, the report says, adding that man declined medical treatment.
James claimed that the man had thrown a laundry basket at her, strangled her, broke her glasses and spit in her face. Deputies didn’t notice any marks on James and she also declined medical attention, the report says.
James was then taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with battery. She was released Monday late Monday afternoon on $500 bond and is due in a Marion County courtroom on May 17 at 8 a.m. to answer to the charge.
