Driver ticketed after golf cart accident on Morse Boulevard

Emergency personnel responded Wednesday morning to an accident in which a golf cart landed on its side on Morse Boulevard, north of County Road 466.

A man driving a golf cart was heading southbound on Morse Boulevard at 11:09 a.m. and attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Guido Avenue, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency personnel were at the scene of the accident on Morse Boulevard.

A car heading northbound on Morse Boulevard had stopped to allow the golf cart to make the left-hand turn when the driver of another golf cart, also northbound, did not see the golf cart attempting to make the left turn. The driver of the northbound golf cart took evasive action to avoid a collision and his golf cart landed on its side. He suffered minor injuries, but did not require a trip to the hospital.

The driver of the southbound cart was ticketed on a charge of violation of right-of-way.
