Politicians like those who inhibit the entertainment industry, reinvent themselves on a continuum depending on the circumstance or need. To clarify, my comments are solely directed toward the radical strain of the Democrat Party, and those opportunists who, for “self-gain,” attach themselves to their progressive agenda.
The absurdities and disconnects with which progressives govern, seek safe spaces, along with their ongoing desire for Trump’s impeachment have been puzzling and disconcerting. While pondering this dilemma my thoughts reconnected to an old tale offering me the appropriate allegory, psychological overlay and logical explanation for their puzzling behavior.
Recall Gulliver’s Travels, First Voyage, wherein Gulliver finds himself a prisoner of tiny people on the island country of Lilliput. At first the Lilliputians are hospitable to Gulliver, but they become wary and weary of the threat that his size poses to them. The Lilliputians reveal themselves to be a people who put great emphasis on trivial matters. For example, which end of an egg a person cracks becomes the basis of a deep political rift within Lilliput. They are a people who revel in displays of authority and performances of power. Gulliver assists the Lilliputians to subdue their neighbors the Blefuscudians by stealing their fleet. However, he refuses to reduce the island nation of Blefuscu to a province of Lilliput, displeasing the Lilliputian King and his royal subjects. Gulliver is charged with treason and convicted with a Red Queen’s Justice but he escapes to Blefuscu and then finding an abandoned boat makes his way back home.
Since the 1960’s continually, incrementally and as a rite of passage each successive generation of progressives, armed with their right to entitlement and pro grievance stance advanced their efforts to be more radical and outrageous. Many of the liberated and enlightened gravitate to academia, Hollywood and the news media because they know these industries have the greatest opportunity and widest exposure for creating their fictional narratives to influence and control society. Their creed that Washington, D.C. is Mecca, making Hollywood their Medina is sacrosanct to them.
Ostensibly, all of life’s decisions are emotional. Sensible and serious people set aside emotion and judgment methodically working toward a reasonable solution. Progressives, on the other hand predictably exhibit guilt, hate, shame, revenge or disgust when problem solving resulting in overkill.
It can be said that progressives, today, have arrived at their apogee or perhaps their nadir moment of absurdity. In part it is the act of connecting any and all events worldwide to Trump’s doing. So extreme is their obsession they would have us believe that today’s international disorder arrived at the same exact moment Donald Trump was inaugurated.
And, why are progressives opposed to immigration enforcement? Why do they want open borders that allow non-vetted people in with health and safety concerns and no intent to assimilate causing this nation to move from a melting pot to a boiling pot of hate and mistrust? Why do progressives support and defend sanctuary cities? Why would congressional leaders make irresponsible and nonsensical statements such as Alexandra Cortez who refers to illegals as her constituents, while Kirsten Gillibrand dodges the issue with a feel-good response of “there is no such thing as an illegal human being”?
At what price does this “feel good” belief cost us in financial, national security, personal safety and national identity costs? Government statistics report that both illegal and legal foreign non-citizens use nearly two times the amount of welfare as native-born Americans. A cursory look at progressives’ position on immigration leaves one with the understanding that it cannot withstand close scrutiny.
Progressive continue to waste time and valuable resources while ignoring real national problems, on a fictitious collusion story which they knew from the outset never contained a” there’s there”. These are the very same operatives who used counter-intelligence methods to exploit this fictitious claim, ignored Clinton’s gross negligence regarding her personal server and the serious campaign financial breaches found in the Clinton Charitable Foundation, both of which are criminal in nature. Meanwhile, Mueller’s investigation and countless Democrat Committees egregiously continue into Trump’s campaign looking under every stone for dirt as progressives blink and deflate at the accusation of their double standard
The once “live let live” philosophy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” morphed from an invented human rights issue to a preferred lifestyle, to a demand for absolute and unequivocal acceptance of normalcy for their chosen lifestyle. But overkill being progressives’ trademark wasn’t enough as this radical element made demands of an acceptance of non-binary gender without the supporting evidence to explain what replaces a XX or XY chromosome? These demands are not a plea for compassionate thinking, they are demands for thought control. Simply stated in all same sex issues, progressives continue to misapply moral equivalencies, deny truths because reality is negotiable, turning nature and tradition on its head and in this process with serious consequences.
Jamie Shupe the first non-binary declared American (circa 2016) is a case in point. He said publicly on television that his cry for help was an open invitation for radical feminist to ignore his psychiatric needs and use him as the first advertised transgender woman, followed by a claim of being both male and female. He lamented it was all pure legal fiction and explained that the news media continues to cover up the health effects of taking hormones (affect bone density, kidneys, etc.), irreversible breast growth, botched-up surgeries and worse yet ignoring the need for psychiatric care. He confirmed what many medical experts have contended all along and that is transgender’s who opt for surgery later regret their decision.
Progressive, in their hubris, believe they can control mother nature? They believe climate change is a bigger threat than an expanding entitlement state? They repeatedly fall for, or make factitious Malthusian Catastrophe claims. They tell us to mind our own business and yet progressives believe they have the moral right to control free speech, free thought, our right to own a gun, our right to practice our faith and to voice a concern for abortion?
These warriors for social justice operate only in one direction? We are all appalled at the recent revelation of the elitist university scandal. However, on the other hand what is the justification for having affirmative action still in place? Why do progressives continue this pigmentation war of words? Why is it progressives ignore the concept of equal opportunity and believe they are entitled to equal outcomes? What right do progressives possess that allow them to demand justice for their picks granting them to move with impunity while their non-picks suffer a Red Queen’s justice?
When presented with “progressive idealism” as to how to fix the world, progressives ignore realistic suggestions or outcomes. Since the days of hanging chads progressives have challenged, denied and never accepted election outcomes including Hillary Clinton’s, Andrew Gillum and Stacey Abrams. One wonders why progressives ignore asking at what price society must suffer for their belief of self-importance and irrational implementation, in terms of human freedoms and economic impact? One wonders why progressives ignore presenting hard evidence to back up their idealistic assertions? Or believe that objective facts do not have to be included into any conversation. Andrew Yang, Progressive 2020 presidential candidate outlandishly promises every American will be guaranteed $1,000 per month for life. Several progressive congressmen and women promise to eliminate profit from the medical industry when implementing Medicare For All never addressing the glaring economic and quality of health care impact this would have on this industry and nation? Why is it a statute, tee shirt, song, causes triggering warnings and progressive scurrying for safe spaces? Why is it progressives are hell bent on destroying every American institution? I believe the answer to this entire puzzle is that Lilliputians really do exist.
