Man transported to hospital in Ocala after golf cart accident in The Villages

A man was trauma alerted to Ocala Regional Medical Center after a golf cart accident in The Villages.

The accident occurred late Friday afternoon on the multi-modal path in the area of Buena Vista Boulevard and Stillwater Trail. It appears that the man fell from the golf cart and it continued on and struck a fence, according to information from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of this golf cart was transported Friday afternoon to an Ocala hospital after a golf cart accident.

The Florida Highway Patrol has been called in to investigate.

The Villages Public Safety Department, Community Watch and Sumter EMS also responded to the scene.

The golf cart had a Boston Red Sox decal on the windshield and another decal indicating it had been purchased at The Villages Golf Cars.

Earlier this month, a Villager died after suffering a seizure and falling from his golf cart not far from his home in the Village of St. Charles.
