FHP report identifies Villager injured in accident on multi-modal path

A Florida Highway Patrol report has identified a Villager who fell from a golf cart Friday afternoon and was trauma alerted to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

Paul Fishel’s golf cart hit some shrubs and then a fence after he fell from the vehicle.

Paul Fishel, 72, of the Village of Duval, had been driving a 2016 EZ-GO golf cart southbound at 4:55 p.m. on the multi-modal path along Buena Vista Boulevard south of Stillwater Trail when he fell from the golf cart, the report said. He fell in the center of the path while his golf cart continued on before hitting a shrub and then a fence.

He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The golf cart was removed by Kart Aide.

It is the second time this month a Villager fell from a golf cart and hit the pavement. A Villager died earlier this month after suffering a seizure and falling into the street from his golf cart.
