Lady Lake woman arrested after erratic driving attracts attention of law enforcement

Christina Kittleson Coy

A Lady Lake woman was arrested after her erratic driving attracted the attention of law enforcement.

Christina Kittelson Coy, 41, had been driving a gray Chevy SUV at 10:46 p.m. Saturday on County Road 229 in Wildwood when a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy noticed she kept driving on the center double yellow line, according to an arrest report.

During a traffic stop, Coy said the vehicle belonged to her husband and she does not feel comfortable driving it.

The deputy wrote Coy a written warning and when he returned to the SUV to issue it to Coy, he detected “the strong scent of marijuana.” Coy admitted she had a single joint concealed in a bag of cough drops located in a shopping bag on the floor of the vehicle.

She was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $1,000 bond.
