90-year-old Villager a wanted woman after skipping arraignment in court

A 90-year-old Villager is a wanted woman after skipping a court date last week.

Jeanne Carolyn Hicks, of the Village of Del Mar, had been scheduled to appear Wednesday morning before Judge Cary Rada in Lake County Court. She didn’t show up. An arrest warrant has been issued.

Hicks ran afoul of the law on March 23 after the front bumper of her red 2015 Chevrolet Malibu “tapped” the rear bumper of the vehicle in front of her in the drive-up lane at Taco Bell on Bichara Boulevard in The Villages, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

A check revealed Hicks’ license had been suspended in October for failure to respond to a citation that had been issued July 1. A seize tag order had also been issued. Kling Towing took Hicks’ vehicle to the company’s impound yard.

Hicks’ license plate and driver’s license were both seized.

When Hicks is located and taken into custody, she will face a $2,000 bond, according to Lake County Court records.
