To the Editor:
Residents, be they full-time (as I am) or snowbirds, pay amenity fees for the upkeep of the golf courses, recreation centers, pools, landscaping, entertainment nightly in the squares and roads. Money can be saved if the flowers were only replanted three times a years instead of four and if the recreation centers either used or installed ceiling fans to circulate the air, the temperatures could be raised and we’d still be comfortable. That being said, I think it is only fair that people who get guest passes to use the amenities be charged a fee. We should not have to foot the bill for their enjoyment.
A $5 fee for a guest pass is not unreasonable and would allay the necessity of raising our residents’ amenity fees.
