To the Editor:
During the last Irish parade I noticed a number of men who were wearing hats, who did not remove them or salute the flag as it was passing by.
According to the American flags website:
“At the moment the flag passes in a parade or procession all persons should show respect by standing at attention facing the flag with their right hand over their heart. Military personnel or veteran should face the flag and render their formal salute. Men and boys should remove their hats, too.”
Let’s show some respect to the troop members who fought so hard and died to give us these freedoms.
