New Italian pizzeria opening this summer at Lake Deaton Plaza

Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza is coming to Lake Deaton Plaza.

A new Italian pizzeria is on track to open this summer at Lake Deaton Plaza in The Villages.

Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza will be opening in August at 729 Kristine Way. There are currently three Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza locations in Gainesville and two more in Ocala.

The restaurants specialize in a wide variety of gourmet specialty pizzas, including Greek Veggie, Eggplant, Brooklyn Provolone and Spinach Pesto. The menu offers a number of specialty calzones, all of which come with a side of marinara sauce.

Entrees include Shrimp and Mussels Fra Diavolo, Garlic Broccoli Cappellini and Pasta Arrabbiatta.

The restaurant also serves soups, salads and stone baked breads.

There be carry-out service available.

The owners are Mike Akey, Jerry Roberts and Joel Mills. They hope to open additional locations in the area.
