Wildwood woman arrested after allegedly throwing hedge trimmer at another woman

Laurie Ann Taylor

A Wildwood woman was arrested after allegedly throwing a hedge trimmer at another woman.

Laurie Ann Taylor, 55, was taken into custody at 3:20 p.m. Monday by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

An argument broke out when Taylor demanded that the woman and her husband leave the residence, according to an arrest report. Taylor reportedly became upset and slammed an oscillating fan against a bed frame. Taylor took the woman’s belongings and began throwing them over a fence.

Taylor then threw the hedge trimmer at the woman, striking her above the left knee. It left the woman with a scuff mark on her skin and a dark bruise.

Taylor was taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $3,000.
