Villagers take home Senior Games medals in hotly contested table tennis competition

Villagers Doug Fitzsimmons and Earl Hearst won medals Thursday in The Villages Senior Games.

Villagers Doug Fitzsimmons and Earl Hearst won bronze medals in The Villages Senior Games men’s doubles table tennis competition.

Fitzsimmons, of the Village of Winifred, and Hearst, of the Village of Amelia, took home bronze medals in the men’s doubles table tennis competitions. They were among the many Villagers and other area residents who were competing in the events.

The Senior Games, which wraps up on Sunday, April 27, included competitions in a variety of sports, including Air Gun, Archery, Badminton, Bag Toss, Basketball 3-on-3, Basketball Shooting, Billiards, Bocce, Bowling, Fencing, Golf, Horseshoes, Kickball, Lawn Bowling, Petanque, Pickleball, Platform Tennis, Quoits, Sand Volleyball, Shuffleboard, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Track & Field, Trap Skeet, Volleyball and Water Volleyball.
