Suspected thief’s Tinkerbell tattoo leads to arrest during shopping spree with stolen money

Ciara Dorsey

A suspected thief’s Tinkerbell tattoo led to her arrest during a shopping spree with stolen money at Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge Plaza in The Villages.

A woman said she had been parked at Advanced Auto Parts on County Road 466 at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when 31-year-old Ciara Renee Dorsey approached her and volunteered to help her fix her car, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. Dorsey took $170 from the center console of the woman’s car and ran toward Wal-Mart. The woman provided a description of Dorsey, including the fact she has a Tinkerbell tattoo on her right thigh.

The police officer found Dorsey leaning over a jewelry counter at Wal-Mart. She had $80 in cash and $89 worth of Wal-Mart merchandise she had just purchased.

Dorsey confessed she had stolen the woman’s money after pretending to try to help her.

Dorsey also admitted she has a “drug problem” and has had it for “a very long time,” the arrest report said.

She was arrested on charges of burglary and theft and booked on $15,000 bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
