Climate change deniers don’t care about the next generation

Nancy Jordan Blackmore

To Climate Deniers and Disbelievers in Science:

What if you are wrong?

I mean, say you are totally wrong, and the planet is dying?

First the small things die…indicator things like frogs and bees. Top of the chain big items go like elephants, lions, tigers and bears.

As we continue to strip our land, mine our oceans in the never-ending search for fossil fuel. The coral reef dies, and large mammals are impacted by sound waves interfering with their ability to communicate, navigate and feed. Just so we can drive our big ass SUVs as the family car. Sucking up gallons of fuel to feed our addiction to all things big. Because bigger is better right?

Ah yes, the fat happy American. Sucking up gas, the world’s largest consumer. From trucks to clothes, we don’t use real plates anymore and we us copious amounts of plastic. Gosh there are islands of it in the oceans now. Plastic Islands and turtles with it in their bellies.

Storms, fires, hurricanes, cyclones all to do with climate change.

Coral reefs are dying at record numbers, you guessed it climate change.

Today folks are migrating from violence, tomorrow it will be for water and food. Washington FAT CATS will not be able to build a wall big enough, nor an army large enough to guard us from sea to shining sea because there will be so many of them.

While lazy bones is sitting on the sofa who will be wondering where the next meal might grow from when the bees die, and we have no pollinators to produce fruits and vegetables? Just drop off to the nearest fast food joint. Suck up a triple size drink in the plastic cup with a big ole straw, enjoy that double burger with artery clogging cheese and top that off with mega fries. Eat up, Fatty. Then toss your garbage in the trash can if your good: or put that in the back of the gas guzzling pickup and let that trash fly out to let the community share your filth. Polluters.

Rich folks you are no better living in homes for the furniture, rooms you never sit in, yet you heat and cool them and water your manicured landscaping while others in the world search for a drink of clean water. In America we flush the toilet with it. Is bigger better? Do we really care what the Kardashians do or Real Housewife’s somewhere?  What have we become as a nation? What kind of future do we have if this is what we look up to?

Ah …it’s the little things.

If you’re old, perhaps you remember the visits to the zoo or to countries where these animals live. Have seen a grizzly or a polar bear? Well, aren’t you special and greedy? Deniers don’t care that generations after us will live in a world with no large animals. The new natural world will be void of creations large and small. Our ancestors can read about it and look at photos because you didn’t take the word of the worlds leading science.

“Mom, did Grandma and Grandpa really see an elephant? Why are they extinct?”

Too bad for your grandchildren, because that is how long it is going to take for them to be gone? Hell, you’ll be dead so what do you care?

It will however be your fault.

If you are a God-fearing person and you talk to a non-believer. Do you think they wonder?

“What if they are right, and there is a God?”

When did America stop believing in science? Ah yes, at the church, where you think dinosaurs lived with man and Noah took them on the ark. To deny science then is to take the literal word of whatever religion you serve and hold that up to science.

No can do, my friend.

Religion is faith, can’t prove it. You can’t prove any religion that I know.

Science is real and you can prove it all.

You got to ask yourself one question, “What if Climate Change is real?”
