A husband landed behind bars after an intoxicated brawl with his wife.

Wildwood police were called early Friday morning to 300 Stewart St., where an officer found 41-year-old William Carlhiers Long and his wife.

Both indicated an altercation had taken place.

Both parties were intoxicated at the time of the incident and both stated that they could not remember exactly what happened,” the officer wrote in the arrest report.

Long, who stands more than 6 feet tall and weighs 300 pounds, offered differing versions on what had occurred. He had been convicted of battery in 2008.

He was arrested on a felony charge of battery and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,500 bond.
