Oxford man jailed after police officer spots fight at business in Wildwood

An Oxford man landed behind bars after a police officer spotted a fight at a business in Wildwood.

Two men were rolling on the ground exchanging punches at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of Car Quest Auto Parts on Main Street in Wildwood.

One of the men, 46-year-old Michael Grant Brown, was found to have in his pants pocket two plastic bags containing methamphetamine and a glass pipe, which he attempted to destroy.

Brown was arrested on charges of drug possession, possession of drug equipment and attempting to destroy evidence. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $8,000 bond.
