Man jailed after violating court order protecting 68-year-old Villager

Timothy Francis Byrne

A man has been jailed without bond after violating a court order issued to protect a woman living in The Villages.

Timothy Francis Byrne, 42, had been at the wheel of a white Ford F-150 pickup at 2:16 a.m. Tuesday when he ran a red light at County Road 466 and Buena Vista Boulevard, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A traffic stop was initiated near a nail shop at Lake Sumter Landing.

The deputy knew that Byrne was wanted in a case in which he was suspected of violating an order of protection obtained by a 68-year-old woman living in the Village of Santo Domingo. Byrne previously lived in the home with the woman. He was living there this past December when he was arrested with drugs.

A vehicle inventory of the Ford F-150 turned up a pack of Camel cigarettes, which had methamphetamine concealed inside.

Byrne is facing charges including contempt of court and possession of methamphetamine.
