Two drivers transported from scene of crash snarling traffic on U.S. 301

Two drivers were transported from the scene of a crash that snarled traffic Thursday morning on U.S. 301 in Sumter County.

The accident occurred at 10:36 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 301 and County Road 462, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Traffic was backed up on U.S. 301 after the crash.

Both of the drivers were taken by ambulance to Leesburg Regional Medical Center.

The at-fault driver was ticketed for violating the other driver’s right of way.

Emergency personnel were at the scene of the crash Thursday morning on U.S. 301.
