New restaurant opens its doors at Lake Sumter Landing

The Flying Biscuit Cafe opened its doors this week at Lake Sumter Landing.

Bryce and Stacey Kelly are owners of the restaurant located in the former home of the Tea Plantation florist at 1101 Canal St. The restaurant’s hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

The Flying Biscuit Cafe is located on Canal Street at Lake Sumter Landing.

The Kellys already have demonstrated their knowledge of the market in The Villages.

They have enjoyed success at McAlister’s Deli since cutting the ribbon in 2014 at the Brownwood eatery.

The Flying Biscuit Cafe brand has been a dominant, regional staple throughout the Southeast. Since opening its first location in the Atlanta suburb of Candler Park in 1993, a Flying Biscuit location has yet to close its doors. The nearest location of a Flying Biscuit Cafe is in Gainesville.

The Flying Biscuit company plans to have 21 restaurants open by the end of 2019.
