Ribbon-cutting celebration set this week for new recreation centers, dog park

A ribbon-cutting celebration is set this week for two new recreation centers and a dog park in The Villages.

The event will take place at 9 a.m. Friday, May 31 at the new Riverbend Recreation Center at 1833 Corbin Trail. The event will also mark the opening of the Rupert Canine Park and Swallowtail Neighborhood Recreation Center.

The facilities are located in the Village of Linden and the Village of Monarch Grove.

Entertainer Joe Hand will be performing from 9 a.m. to noon.
