Elwood Wayne Morris

On May 27, 2019, Elwood Wayne Morris passed from this world.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 55 years, Bonnie Dean Morris.  He is also survived by their son, Darrin Robert Morris of Davenport, FL.

Wayne was born and raised in Houston, DE.  He was a graduate of Milford High School in 1961 and upon graduation, he joined the United States Navy and service two and a half years in the Philippines.  He joined the Delaware State Police in 1966, retiring after 20 years as Captain/Troop Commander of Troop 5 Bridgeville, DE.

He and his wife moved from their home in Delaware in 2000 to a new life in The Villages, FL.   Wayne was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing several times a week, sharing many laughs with fellow golfing friends.  Wayne and Bonnie enjoyed life in The Villages with all it has to offer.

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Father, Step-Father, Step-Mother, two sisters and a brother.  He is survived by step-brothers and step-sisters and a step-mother.

Arrangements entrusted to the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL 32159.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Delaware State Police Museum, 1425 North DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901.
