Sumter sheriff seeks help in finding bandit on multi-county robbery spree

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a bandit who has committed five robberies between Sumter, Hernando and Citrus counties.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help in identifying and locating the man pictured above, who is wanted in connection with five robberies in Sumter, Hernando and Citrus counties.

The man is believed to be armed and dangerous, though he’s only suggested he has a weapon and has never shown one while committing the crimes. He demands money from cash registers and then leaves the area while avoiding apprehension.

The man was supposedly seen fleeing the area of a Sumter County robbery in a square-body (possibly 1980s-90s) brown/tan Chevy S-10 Blazer or GMC Jimmy, according to an eyewitness.
