A homeless man who acted as a “lookout” has been arrested in the theft of a special edition Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Last week, the Wildwood Police Department issued a bulletin in the search for the Harley-Davidson Sportster Bicentennial edition motorcycle with a 1776-1976 emblem on the gas tank.
Acting on a tip, Wildwood police went Sunday morning to a mobile home park where 44-year-old Michael Hagan was staying. A motorcycle was spotted at the residence and it was obvious that there had been an attempt to gouge the serial number and a crude spray painting job had been attempted. Lights and turn signals from the motorcycle were found in a garbage can.
Now police have made a second arrest.
Jonathan Marcelle Rogers, 36, who is homeless, has admitted to police he acted as a lookout for Magan when he stole the motorcycle. The two of them pushed it into a shed.
Rogers is facing charges of grand theft and burglary. He was booked Wednesday on $12,000 bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
