The manager of a Summerfield drug store called the Marion County Sheriff’s Office for help Thursday after a man attempted to make a purchase with counterfeit money.
When the deputy arrived at the CVS Pharmacy, located at 17817 SE 109th Ave., the manager said that a man had attempted to purchase items from the store with a $100 bill. She said she checked the bill with a counterfeit pen, which showed the money to be fake, a sheriff’s office report states.
The manager said she told the man the bill was a fake and she was going to keep it and call law enforcement. She said he then dropped his items and left the store, the report says.
