A landscaping plan will be considered this week for a home with a “monstrous” garage that provoked neighbors in The Villages.
The Architectural Review Committee came down with a split vote last month on the garage that has been at the center of an emotional battle in the Village of Tall Trees.
The garage expansion is now complete at the home at 2370 Five Forks Trail, owned by Martin Eisner, who owns two other homes in The Villages.
A petition against the garage extension had been signed by 175 residents of the Village of Tall Trees.
The ARC on Wednesday morning will consider an application from Eisner for landscaping at the property. The plan calls for a Bougainvillea tree, a Weeping Bottle Brush tree and a Laura Pendulum tree. He also is seeking permission for an 11-inch wall and rock beddings.
The contractor performing the work will be Brandon Suris Landscaping.
Opposition against Eisner’s massive garage expansion was led by Karen Phillips, who purchased her Village of Tall Trees home Feb. 4 and moved in March 1. She said she was blindsided by the project and found fault with the lack of information provided in the neighborhood.
