Katie Belle’s ambience could be reborn at Hacienda Hills

To the Editor:

Several years ago the Developer took away the original residents-only Katie Belle’s so they could garner more rent from retail establishments on the ground floor (more money in the Developer’s pockets and forget about the residents; much like cutting the happy hour in half at Spanish Springs). This was to the dismay of many of The Villages residents who enjoyed the ambience, entertainment and feeling of knowing that this was place they could go without the interference from people from outside The Villages (some undesirables for sure).
With all the controversy about what to do with the Hacienda Hills Country Club why not investigate establishing a residents-only venue similar to the original Katie Belle’s in the now vacant facility? We have many friends that would certainly go there and enjoy knowing that it is for residents only. And as an avid golfer, I know for sure that my groups would certainly patronize it after a round of golf, for dinner, entertainment and more.
A place for residents only. Just a thought.
