Lady Lake man arrested after alleged stabbing with kitchen knife

Author James Lee

A Lady Lake man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed another man with a kitchen knife.

Author James Lee, 63, has been lodged at the Sumter County Detention Center since his arrest Tuesday on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The victim dialed 911 after suffering a half-inch long cut to the upper ribcage below his chest, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

“The victim did not realize he had been stabbed until he saw blood coming from his wound a few moments later,” the deputy wrote in the arrest report.

Once the man realized he had been stabbed, he called 911. An EMS crew arrived on the scene but the man refused treatment.

A woman on the scene verified that Lee and the man had been arguing, but did not witness the stabbing.

Lee has been jailed on $5,000 bond.
