Child nipped in face by newly adopted dog at Rolling Acres Apartments

A child was reportedly nipped in the face by a newly adopted dog at the Rolling Acres Apartments in Lady Lake.

A bite report was initiated June 26 after the four-year-old boy suffered the injury on June 24, according to an incident report from Lady Lake Animal Control.

The child’s mother said the boy had been nipped in the face by a Min Pin named Gator. She said the dog had been adopted June 23 from Orange County Animal Services. The mother said the child had tried to ride the dog “like a horse” and sat down on top of the dog. The dog turned around and nipped the child in his face. The child had been at home with a babysitter at the time of the incident.

The dog was placed under home quarantine.
