Six executive golf courses in The Villages will be closed at different times this week for greens aerification.
The aerification process is part of the routine maintenance performed on Villages golf courses throughout the year. It generally occurs on the executive courses twice during the summer months.
Three-day closures planned for this coming week, weather-permitting, include:
- Hilltop (Monday-Wednesday);
- Bacall (Tuesday-Thursday);
- El Diablo (Tuesday-Thursday);
- Roosevelt (Wednesday-Friday);
- Escambia (Thursday-Saturday); and
- Pelican (Thursday-Saturday).
The early maintenance recovery transition program is used to encourage quality conditions. A 14- to 21-day recovery cycle is anticipated and residents should plan their tee times accordingly.
