A girlfriend found her dead boyfriend who overdosed at their home in the Village of Silver Lake.
The 25-year-old woman found 58-year-old Jeffrey Jarboe at about 8 p.m. July 3 in the master bedroom of their home on Jason Drive, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. She was attempting to perform CPR on him when emergency personnel arrived on the scene.
An uncapped hypodermic needle was found on the floor near Jarboe and multiple drug-related items were discovered in the home. He had been using 1 to 2 grams of heroin per day, the girlfriend told police. The woman said she had been trying to “get clean” and had gone to a friend’s house. She also told police she had been living at the house on Jason Drive since December and she did not know where Jarboe had been getting drugs.
The report noted that Lady Lake police, The Villages Public Safety Department and Lake EMS had responded to the same home on June 1 when Jarboe had previously overdosed. The drug Narcan was used to revive him.
Jarboe will be remembered in a service Monday in Kentucky. He was a retired accountant and Air Force veteran.
