Fruitland Park man jailed in alleged attack on woman who claimed she ‘fell’

Timothy Henshaw

A Fruitland Park man was arrested in an alleged attack on a woman who claimed an injury she had suffered was incurred because she “fell.”

Fruitland Park police were called at 9:41 p.m. Thursday to a home at 413 Tropic Circle, where they heard a woman’s loud screams. An officer saw that the woman was being chased by 54-year-old Timothy Walter Henshaw, who lives at and runs a sealing business out of the residence.

The woman was “very upset, breathing rapidly and crying,” according to the arrest report. Her right hand was bleeding. Once the woman learned that Henshaw might be arrested, she immediately told police, “I fell.” She declined medical attention from Lake EMS, which had been summoned to the scene.

Another woman told police she had received a phone call from the victim in the midst of Henshaw’s alleged attack. That woman had contacted law enforcement. Henshaw was previously twice arrested on battery charges in 1996.

Henshaw was arrested on a charge of battery and booked at the Lake County Jail. He was released after posting $10,000 bond.
