A driver who failed to pay child support was arrested after a traffic stop at a busy intersection at Colony Plaza in The Villages.
Austin Zachary McDaniel, 25, of Leesburg, at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday was driving a GMC Sierra pickup heading east on County Road 466A when a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy ran his license plate and discovered the truck’s registered owner had a license that was suspended for failure to pay child support. He was pulled over at CR 466A and Sembler Way.
The suspension was effective as of April 22, according to the arrest report. McDaniel claimed he had no knowledge of the suspension.
He was arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $500 bond.
