A relatively cold and CO2 starved earth

John Shewchuk

As promised, here is the data showing the carbon dioxide hoax. The climate extremists give you more taxes and socialism; I give you objective data and realism. The below world history chart was created using multiple, peer-reviewed data sources.  It shows that global temperature and CO2 trends have a very weak correlation — in other words — not statistically significant.  Just look at how many times temperatures rise and CO2 falls, and vice versa.

This data is downloadable from major universities while similar charts can be found on the Internet.  I should mention, however, that you have to dig deep to find the source data.

The graph shows that today’s CO2 levels are extremely low compared to the past.  If CO2 drops below 150 ppm plants, begin to die. Dinosaurs thrived in 2,000 ppm CO2 levels about 150 million years ago.  Current CO2 levels are barely above 400 ppm, which is why we pump 1,000 to 1,500 ppm of CO2 into our greenhouses.  If you grow your own plants and grass, you surely want more CO2 in the air. Instead of taxing CO2 production, the government should be giving us tax credits for CO2 production.

And then there’s the Green New Deal fanatics who are all in a tizzy because CO2 levels hit 415 ppm.  Really?  Look at the chart again — I mean really look. The earth’s first primates developed 50 million years ago … when temperatures were much higher and CO2 peaked near 1,200 ppm.  (Close examination shows that CO2 peaked after the temperatures peaked.)  Compared to that lush biosphere where life thrived, we are currently experiencing a relatively cold and CO2 starved earth.  CO2 does not control climate, other factors do, which will be a future article.

Bottom line — it’s no secret that the CO2 is just a miniscule player in climate change.  Any capable person can find this historical data, plot it, and behold its revelations. The HR 673 carbon tax proposal is not really about climate change — it’s all about power and money.  Like Christine Stewart (former Canadian Minister of the Environment) so eloquently said, “No matter if the science of global warming is all phony… climate change provides the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world.”  So be careful who you vote for, because the results can be very taxing.
