Vending machine raided for money for third time within year

A vending machine was raided for money for the third time within a year at Paradise Recreation Center.

The damage to the soda machine was reported Tuesday to the Lady Lake Police Department.

The machine was rendered inoperable due to the money insert slots being torn apart, according to an incident report. The machine was unopened, but badly damaged. A wood 2×4 was next to the machine and had several scratch marks indicating it had been used in an attempt to pry the machine open.

The machine had also been targeted in June and sustained $500 in damage.

In November, money was found to be missing from the vending machine. Earlier that same year,  tampering with the vending machine at Paradise Recreation Center was discovered.
