Homeless man arrested after found sleeping on bench at gazebo in Wildwood

A homeless man was arrested after he was found sleeping on a bench at a gazebo on Main Street in Wildwood.

An officer found 32-year-old Dustin Charles Mereness at 9 a.m. Thursday sleeping at the city-owned gazebo near Wildwood City Hall, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

A check revealed the Los Angeles native had been previously trespassed from the gazebo on June 15, the report indicated.

Mereness was arrested on a charge of trespassing and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $100.
