‘Highly intoxicated’ man arrested after urinating at gazebo near Wildwood City Hall

David Bruce

A “highly intoxicated” man was arrested after urinating at a gazebo near Wildwood City Hall.

David Cecil Bruce, 57, of Wildwood, began drinking at about 2 p.m. Monday at the gazebo, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. A witness told police that Bruce pulled down his pants and began to urinate in the bushes next to the gazebo. The witness left but returned a few hours later and found that Bruce was still there and highly intoxicated. Bruce once again urinated in the bushes and the witness called law enforcement.

When officers arrived at the gazebo, Bruce had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.

He freely stated that he had urinated in the bushes several times, but said no one had seen his genitals. He was so intoxicated he was deemed to be “a possible danger to himself,” the report said.

He was arrested on a charge of disorderly intoxication and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
