Fruitland Park Commission OKs plan for paving streets and parking lots

Fruitland Park commissioners have approved a contract for several street and parking area paving projects.

Commissioners this past Thursday agreed to spend $115,536 with Paquette Company, of Leesburg, for 10 projects. Those include:

  • Ridgewood Drive cul-de-sac ($4,524);
  • Judith Avenue ($9,570);
  • Le Conte Street ($12,485);
  • Plumosa Avenue ($17,400);
  • Fountain Street ($31,755);
  • Dennis Avenue ($14,790);
  • Smith Street ($11,484);
  • Nuzum Street ($11,484);
  • Entrance to soccer fields on Dixie Avenue ($1,087); and
  • Entrance to soccer fields on Shiloh Avenue ($957).

The contract, which piggybacks off a similar agreement Lake County has with Paquette for paving needs, includes all labor, materials and equipment. It is based on 1.25-inch asphalt and includes the tack coat, traffic control, prep work prior to paving, milling and keyway joints.
